Who builds this
Parametric Wall Studio is built and maintained by Belkacem Guerbasse, its founder and sole developer. The guides on this site are written by the same person who wrote the engine — slat slicing, sheet nesting, cutter radius compensation and G-code all come out of the code described in those articles.
Why it exists
A downloadable DXF only fits the wall it was drawn for. Change the height by 200 mm and it is useless. Parametric design solves that: the wall is defined by numbers — width, slat spacing, relief depth, joinery — and the geometry, the cut sheets and the G-code are rebuilt from those numbers every time one changes.
The existing tools that do this properly — Grasshopper, OpenSCAD — either cost money or require learning visual programming first. This one runs in a browser, needs no install and no account, and is aimed at people who own a CNC router rather than a CAD licence.
What it does not do
- — It does not sell panels, wood or hardware. It produces files; what you cut and sell from them is yours.
- — The AI cannot draw a face, a logo or any figurative shape: it composes mathematical patterns. Figurative relief goes through a grayscale heightmap instead, and the tool says so rather than producing something wrong.
- — Machining figures — feeds, speeds, NRC estimates — are indicative. Validate them on an offcut before committing a full sheet.
- — Designing is free and unlimited. Only downloading files at volume needs Pro.
